Fondation Cartier Contemporary Throw Up | Graffter Gallery

A throw up on the entrance to the Fondation Cartier Contemporary Art Center in Paris, coinciding with the exhibit of New York Graffiti Art of the 1970-80s called Born in the Streets. Throw up graffiti  is often characterized as quickly painted letters, sometimes tagged with a crew name. The motive behind throw up graffiti is to have your message seen by many in the quickest, most eye-catching way possible.

The Fondation Cartier Contemporary Art Center in Paris hosted ‘Born in the Streets’ during the summer of 2019, displaying iconic artwork from some of the most influential graffiti artists. This was an important event in the street art world, as it finally brought international recognition to a medium which had been highly overlooked and often deemed as vandalism or criminal activity.
